America the Beautiful, a gorgeous 24" x 36" maple-framed print of mixed media on wood by NYCGMC member Jurgen Jones. Inspired by David Bowie's "Where Are We Now?" video, the piece, photographed by chorus member Michael Dekker, was projected on stage during the eponymous NYCGMC concert in June 2013.
Joel Grey is well known for his storied career in the performing arts, but less known is his success as a photographer, evidenced by works at the MoMA and Whitney and several published books, including The Flower Whisperer, from which this image hails. The book showcases photographs of abstracted flowers, shot from a point of view that distorts and disorients the images, highlighting the surprises and pleasures found in nature. Queen of the Night is an original, signed and numbered (1/4), extremely limited edition print from a 2019 photo exhibition at SoHo's Staley-Wise Gallery, housed more recently in his private collection. Beautifully encased and matted in a 3/4" white wood gallery frame measuring 26 5/16" wide and 33 1/14" high, the back is signed and dated 2/5/21 to mark this occasion.
